Nursery Decor

by Barbie Watson

A big time of your life is when you are expecting your first baby. Now it’s time to get a room ready for the new baby to sleep in. Nursery’s can at times seem like one of the hardest rooms to decorate. If you don’t know the gender of the baby and are not going to find out, you will need to decorate the room in a color or design that is good for both genders. But if you do know the gender you can be a bit more specific when it comes to getting the newborns room ready.

What theme you choose will probably last for quite a while, so choose carefully unless you want to have to redo the room earlier than you were hoping for. Of course as your child becomes older his tastes will change but you may be able to get away with the original look for three years. Of course there are themes that will last longer than that so if you want the theme to go on for longer choose something like numbers or even animals.

If your child is a boy it can start and continue to be super heroes and cartoon characters. A more feminine theme for your little girl could be gardens, flowers, tea parties, and Disney princesses. These are timeless and can remain in your child’s room until their early pre-teenage years.

A neutral color is the best choice when you go to getting a nursery ready. It will leave you more open to adding in colors through a theme that you have chosen.

You will want to make the themed style room one that is exciting to your child, something that can be easy to add to over the years if you need too. Put up artwork that your child has done in school as they get older, or add in a nice photo to the room.

Keeping the floor wood may be the best bet to decorating a newborns room. You can add a nice area rug that isn’t much in cost. Just make sure that you get one that is stain resistant, and one that isn’t too large either. As your child grows up they will have toys scattered in the room on a rug. The bigger rug you have the harder it will be to pick up and clean.

When using these easy budget saving tips and decorating ideas, your baby’s nursery will end up looking like a million bucks!

Baby Room Design experts all agree that it is essential to use area rugs. And as discussed here one of the most popular ranges is the nursery area rugs.
