Wooden floor is much better than laminate?

I'm putting wood floor in my room, but the price difference is amazing, I am considering ask for laminate instead.

Much of the difference is the labor required for installation – hardwood floors reality requires approximately twice the amount of work for installation. Hardwood is best when installed correctly, and also has the advantage of being refinished (wood is much thicker and can be sanded and varnished). I do not buy the argument seems, many laminate floors are virtually indistinguishable from those of hardwood. Laminates are usually thinner and do much easier for many installation problems, as the installed height and transition to other rooms. If you are replacing a vinyl or tile floor, hardwood is thicker than it is to replace and will have problems in the transition to other rooms that require modifications basement to do well. I installed both, and both can produce great results. If you are planning on living in the house for 50 years, go with wood. You can probably get 15-20 years of a laminate before Refinish of if you have to take care of it – at this point can only be replaced or carefully hand-sand and refinish. If cost is a concern, certainly go with a sheet good.
