The Super Bowl, for millions of people, is the world's most exciting game. Each year over 100,000 Americans gather to watch the game, many as if their Lives depend on it. What does this say about us as human beings? What does this say about our values?

What if our game exciting game called life? What if the creation of a radically better future for our children is more exciting than winning the Super Sunday Bowl?

More people watched the news on 9 / 11 to watch the Super Bowl. How many more crises will take for us all to wake up and participate in the game we're playing, simply by virtue of living in the 21st century? Terrorism, war, extreme poverty, AIDS, addiction, depression, warming Overall, pollution, crime, corruption stakes are much higher than the Super Bowl, but how many of us are playing as if we the ball in our hands and depends on us?

Unfortunately, many people refer to the challenges we face as human beings, as if now there are more than spectators, looking at all waste my time is running out.

Talk, talk, talk and more talk. Everyone speaks of change. Like quarterbacks armchair, many good intentions, good people are talking about the margin of life, gossip, criticize and complain about what everyone else is doing or not doing.

Consider these two important differences between the couch watching football quarterback and good sense, good person, being a spectator in the world today.

1) We are all in this game called life. Everyone is a player, like it or not, however, much of our team is on the sidelines, watching, cheering, whining, comment on those in the field. Can you imagine a football team, where most of the team is not just on the bench, but at home watching the game on TV? Can you imagine a team whose players do not even dare to play? That could contribute a little money or vote on team decisions, but when it comes to get down and dirty and play anywhere they are. Except you. You're here to play and can not be denied. Life lived from the sidelines would be death for you.

2) The armchair quarterback acts as if his cries on TV will make a difference, however, there is nothing you can do to influence the outcome of the game. We, as beings human in the game of life, we often act as if our ideas or our voice will not make a difference, but whatever we decide to do or does not affect the outcome of the game. Sitting in his house screaming to the politicians on television instead of having their voice in public makes a difference in the outcome of the game. It is a great strategy for losing the game of life. Complain about anything and acting as if there's not much you can do about it affects the results of the only game that really matters – life itself. When we choose to be a quarterback armchair in the game of life, we are choosing to lose the future, could be creating for our children.

We currently do not need more good people, who mean well. Now the world needs great people. We need champions. But more than that, we need that people are simply more willing to get off the chair, turn off the television and out in the field. Greatness starts with the will to act.

One of the most dangerous illusions today is the idea that people with political power rule the world and the only ones with real power to make change. Nothing could be further from the truth. Look around. The world you see was not created by politicians. It was created by entrepreneurs, artists, inventors, industrial workers, etc. Humans have all the power we need to create a better world right now in our heads and our hearts. It is our creative minds and intellectuals heroic spirits give us more power than all the politicians and military power in the world. And yet, how often act as if power is outside ourselves.

Note that you have the ball. You can run with it now. You can put points on the board and affect the outcome of this game called life, not only for yourself but for your team called humanity.

The game clock is the selection of a multitude of crises threaten our children's future. Whatever the value is on the line.

Is you in the field?
